Theo Hart, escaping a difficult past, arrives in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, where she befriends several wild and wonderful women soaking in a hot springs tub. As dreamy days become a dulcet detour, otherworldly events unfurl, making Theo wonder … What was it they all saw that night on the mesa? Does her heart belong to Winny? Is she being followed?
Tinged with mystery and music, humor, social commentary and perhaps an alien or two, Dance with the Desert is a quirky story of friendship and an examination of truth, reality and the consequences we must navigate to become who we are meant to be.

Writer and Musician
Julia Jaxsun grew up in the Southwest and played in an indie-punk band achieving mild success. She has a few college degrees which ground her writing, while her sci-fi ideas keep it weird. She enjoys the great outdoors and lives in Colorado with her partner and their cat, Madame President. She is the recipient of the Aspiring Authors scholarship from the Colorado Author’s Hall of Fame and was a Finalist for the Diverse Worlds Grant from the Speculative Literature Foundation.
